The MISSION Statement of Pakenham Christian Church

Pakenham Christian Church is part of the fellowship of 237 Churches that make up Australian Christian Churches in Victoria. We are a Church that has a passion for outreach and missions, desiring to make an “IMPACT WITH JESUS” at home and abroad. Our Mission Statement (left) is an important expression of what we are about, we encourage all our congregation to be familiar with this statement. PCC is involved in each of the areas of mission.
We are all involved local evangelism in reaching “OUR FAMILIES”, “OUR COMMUNITIES” and “OUR TOWN”. In “OUR COUNTRY” we are supporting our national missionaries: Warren and Sheena Luscombe serving with Indigenous communities in Fitzroy Crossing and the Kimberley Region in Western Australia. “OUR WORLD” Internationally, we support our ACC Missionaries: Eugene and Fiona Gebert who have been serving in southern Japan since May 2015.
Acts 1:8 has a strong connection with our Mission Statement at PCC. It goes along the same lines, areas of influence we as a Church are to IMPACT. Look at the diagram on the right. Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.”
As a Church it is important to know what the following categories mean to us as part of our Mission Statement: What is our Jerusalem? What is our Judea? What is our Samaria? What is our end of the earth? At PCC we emphasize the importance of knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour and the necessity of growing deeper in our relationship with God. As a Pentecostal Church we believe in the importance of the Gifts and the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Two words that emphasize our Church are “Family” and “Team.”
As a Church “Family” fellowship and togetherness are very important aspects of our Church. We are also a “Team” encouraging people to find out God’s plan for their lives. There are many opportunities for people to serve the Lord in our Church and we desire to follow Jesus Christ’s example of servanthood in the New Testament.
Pakenham Christian Church was planted in 1991 by Berwick Winepress (ACC). Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 “I will build My Church and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it.” At PCC God is building our Church and we want to be a Church:

- That is firmly grounded in God’s Word the Holy Bible.
- That has a heart for the lost.
- That strengthens the family.
- That releases gifts and ministries.
- That knows how to serve.
- That is truly multicultural and multigenerational.
- That has an effective Life Group strategy.
- That makes unity a priority.
- That recognizes the importance of the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
- That does not lose its first love.
- That is a welcoming Church.
- That has effective leadership.
